Deepika Padukone misses the chance to be with her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor, and her chock-a-block date diary is to be blamed for it. The actress dearly wanted to join Ranbir for the overseas promotion of their film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, but couldn’t.

Apparently, Deepika Padukone was looking forward to the promotional tour in the UK and UAE with Ranbir Kapoor for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. However, her erratic shooting schedule played havoc with her plans. The actress even tried reasoning with her two directors Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Leela Bhansali but all her efforts were reportedly in vain.

Actually, Deepika Padukone had locked seven days for the overseas promotional tour of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, but the lithe lassie got delayed as the shooting for Chennai Express was stalled in Munnar (Kerala) because of bad weather. Now, she has to allot fresh dates to Ram Leela as she was supposed to shoot for the film after the Munnar schedule of Chennai Express.

Thus, due to all this shuffling of schedules, she has to forgo and forget her foreign trip with her co-actor Ranbir Kapoor, with whom she has rekindled her lost friendship, if not love.

Interestingly, sources claim that Kapoor lad’s rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif has a few days off, and she may as well fly to London around the same time as Ranbir. Meanwhile, Ranbir has already landed in London and has begun promotions of the movie.

Deepika and I have remained friends: Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor says he and Deepika Padukone carried no baggage from their romantic past while working together in director Ayan Mukerji’s film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

“There was no baggage. We have remained friends and both of us just loved our parts in this film,” Ranbir said while promoting the upcoming film in London.

It’s no secret that a lot of exes in Bollywood are not even on talking terms, let alone working together. But that has certainly not been the case with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Yes, some accusatory statements may have come from her in a few media interviews, but the dirty linen was never dragged out in public view, nor an everlasting resentment harboured.

Today, Ranbir Kapoor says he’s happy with the growth Deepika Padukone has achieved as an actress. (BTW, both Ranbir and Deepika started their acting career on the same Friday in November 2007 with Saawariya and Om Shanti Om respectively). In the last six years, Ranbir thinks Deepika has come far.

“It is great to see her growth as an actor and I look forward to working with her again,” said the 30-year-old Ranbir.

Over the course of these years, Ranbir Kapoor himself has come to be known as the new hot pin-up guy for his female fans.

“I don't take any tags seriously. I don't consider myself hot or good looking. I just concentrate on my work,” Ranbir said.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is slated for a release on May 31.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif may have the expertise in dodging the paparazzi from clicking them together, but they still can’t escape the prying lenses. On April 29, Katrina and Ranbir were busy with their respective shoots at Film City when in between the shots Ranbir casually walked out of the sets to see Katrina at an adjacent shooting location. Reports say the two then quietly sneaked into a vanity van to spend quality time together. The two emerged after about one hour and proceeded back to their respective shooting locations. After all, work couldn’t be neglected. This was just one of the many sightings of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif together. The two have so far maintained that they are just good friends, but given the piles of photographic evidence suggesting more than friendship, they might be compelled to let the world in on the truth. The duo has worked together in two films so far -- Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani and Raajneeti. They were first reported to be dating during the shoot of Ajab Prem Ki… That was the time Katrina was breaking up with Salman Khan.
