At the opening ceremony of the 66th edition of the festival, starting May 15, the actress will sashay down the red carpet flashing dramatic make-up by L’Oreal. Sonam Kapoor unveiled the L’Or Sunset Collection and the Bollywood-inspired looks for Cannes Film Festival at an event held in Mumbai on Monday, May 6. The actress has six looks to choose from for the festival, which includes bold, dramatic eyes in colours like royal blue and red lips. Though this is Sonam’s third visit to Cannes, it is her maiden chance to arrive on the red carpet at the opening gala of Festival de Cannes, and she is delighted. Not only she will be present at the opening ceremony, she will also walk the red carpet on May 16. Talking about her approach towards make-up, she said: “I love Kajal and eye liner. I feel that dramatic eyes look amazing.” At Cannes also, she will rule out simplicity and instead rock in glitzy make-up, staying true to Bollywood flavour. While launching the new range of make-up for Cannes, L’Oreal announced: Glitz, Glamour, Bollywood -- a celebration by Cannes. Fielding questions about her raunchy MMS video that went viral, Pakistani model-turned-actress Veena Malik Wednesday clarified that the clipping in question was a scene from her forthcoming Bollywood film Zindagi 50-50. "It's a footage of one of the songs of the film that shows me and (actor) Rajan Verma... It is not an MMS clip, it's a clipping from the movie Zindagi 50-50," Malik told reporters during a media conference. "Zindagi 50-50" is slated for a May 24 release. The video that gathered millions of hits on social networking sites shows the actress in a compromising position with co-actor Verma. "Its a beautiful scene... While the makers of Ragini MMS 2 have touted the film as a spook fest with sensuousness, drama, and, of course, Sunny Leone, the actress feels that the movie is a date flick.

While talking to a daily, Sunny Leone went candid about her next release, which was recently in the news for lesbian scenes featuring Sandhya Mridul and Sunny. “It's not about what people think it is. Ragini MMS 2 is a date movie. You can take your girlfriend to the movie and I guarantee you will enjoy it,” Sunny is quoted as saying.

The actress further adds that Ragini MMS 2, produced by Ekta Kapoor, is a kind of movie that has all the elements of a thrilling entertainer. Sunny Leone is sure that the audience will enjoy the experience of watching her horror film.
The sequel will take forward the story and will start from where the first part ended. The movie doesn’t have any lesbian scene, but it features a kiss between the two girls, and according to the makers, the script demanded it. Actress Sandhya Mridul was chosen to cast alongside Sunny Leone for the film after Richa Chadda walked out from the project as she wasn’t comfortable with the lesbian content.

As for now, Sunny Leone is soaking in the success of Laila -- her first item number in Bollywood. She’s even tweeting non-stop about the movie Shootout At Wadala that has started minting money at the box office.

Sunny has even signed a three-film deal with Parag Sanghvi, of Alumbra Entertainment. The first movie of the production house will be a thriller.

Doing intimate scenes with Emraan is easier: Sonal Chauhan

From a pageant winner to film actress, Sonal Chauhan has been there, done that, and overcome many odds along the way. "I belong to a conservative family. My father was a police inspector and he was quite strict. When I thought of making a career in the glamour industry, it was quite difficult to convince him initially, but when I won the title of Miss World Tourism things started shaping up in my favour in my family. My father and family started supporting me. as they felt that I would do well in this industry," shares Sonal, who made her debut in Bollywood as Zoya in 'Jannat'.

 

However, in the span of five years in the industry, Sonal only has three big movies to her credit. "After doing Jannat, I did Buddha Hoga Tera Baap with Amitabh ji and my last release was 3G with Neil Nitin Mukesh. Actually, after Jannat, I went back to Delhi to pursue my studies, but now I am back and in days to come, audiences will get to see more of me on screen," she promises.

In her last release Sonal also showcased her singing talent. "It was by chance that I sang for a song in 3G. Mithoon, the music director of the film, was not getting a female playback singer whose voice could gel perfectly with my character in the movie. I used to sing during the shooting breaks and Mithoon noticed it. One fine day, he came to me and told that he wants to record Kaise Bataaon track in my voice. I was really apprehensive, but later I decided to go along with the offer. The day I went to the studio for the recording, I was really nervous but Mithoon supported me a lot and the song turned out really well. Now I have decided to take professional training in singing, and Mithoon's dad has also provided me with a teacher to hone my singing skills," shares the actress.

But while 3G didn't fare well at the box office, Sonal made news for other reasons while working in the film - her alleged link up with co-star Neil. "I agree that Neil is a good friend, and if we are working together, it does not mean we are dating each other. I would like to make it very clear that I am single at the moment. I have noticed that whenever two young actors work together, people start linking them up," says Sonal, who was in a brief visit to Kanpur recently.

Be it in Jannat or 3G, Sonal hasn't shied away from doing bold scenes in her movies. But when it comes to her comfort level with her co-stars, she prefers Emraan Hashmi over Neil Nitin Mukesh. "I don't know why, doing intimate scenes with Emraan is easier than with any other actor. I was really comfortable while shooting those scenes with him. He has mastered the art of making his co-star perfectly comfortable while filming intimate scenes," says Sonal.

In other words, it’s a full song as it would appear in the Sanjay Gupta-directed film Shootout At Wadala which hits theatres this Friday. "I will start shooting this August," she told IANS. The Hrishikesh Mukerjee-directed 1980 family drama, which won the Filmfare award for the best film, was about a young fun loving girl who falls in love with a doctor, played by Rakesh Roshan. How she wins the hearts of everyone in her beau's family that revolves around his mother's strict regimen is the story all about. If Rekha had wowed everyone with her happy-go-lucky performance, Deena Pathak as a strict family head added the right contrast to the story. "The whole point of the film is to capture the spirit of the character. The story is completely changed. So, I want to capture that spirit. Rekha did it so beautifully... even if I can do 10 percent of that, it is great." Making her character more contemporary is what Sonam Kapoor aims at. "I am scared before getting into any character. I hope to make it more current and how young girls are right now... more vibrant," she said, She is convinced that girls will appreciate the new version of "Khubsoorat" and added: "It will be very Mills and Boonish. Arjun Kapoor, as the handsome geek is seen in a blue tee, while Alia Bhatt, who essays an intellectual Tamil Brahmin girl in the movie, is in a blue kurta with black churidaar. The scene is a very important part of the love story as this is first time when Krish (Arjun Kapoor) and Ananya (Alia Bhatt) go outside their college campus for lunch. Earlier, Chetan Bhagat tweeted, "2 States - the film, starts shooting its next schedule in IIM Ahmedabad … Real location. Real excitement." So when the chance to make a short film in Bombay Talkies came along, Zoya decided to make a film on it and she even roped in Katrina whom she directed in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

And guess what? Knowing very well that Zoya Akhtar was working within a small budget of about Rs. 2 crore, Katrina Kaif did not charge a penny for her performance in the film, we have learnt.

Not just Katrina, even Amitabh Bachchan refused to accept any money for the special appearance he made in Anurag Kashyap’s short story in Bombay Talkies.

The other two films in this anthology are by Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. This is the first time Karan Johar has directed something on such a small budget.

Priyanka Chopra turns Pinky for ‘Zanjeer 2.0’!

Priyanka Chopra’s item track Babli Badmash may not have received as overwhelming a response as expected, but the actress has shot for another dance number called Pinky for her movie Zanjeer. The pretty Priyanka Chopra will be showing her killer moves in an item number reportedly titled Pinky in the film. The song is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who is at his best while directing any item track. Acharya is associated with item numbers like Halkat Jawaani, Chikni Chameli and Chamma Chamma. Singer Mamta Sharma of Munni Badnaam Hui fame has given her voice to the song. In an interview she said, “I have done a song for Priyanka in Zanjeer that is being choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. You will get to hear it in say two months' time when the trailer of the film will be out.” Some stills from the song have already hit the web. As the title of the song suggests, Priyanka Chopra will look pinkalicious in it, wearing the dresses by Pria Kataria Puri. As for now Zanjeer 2.0 is in a legal soup and the makers have been asked not to air the trailers of the movie. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Zanjeer 2.0 marks the Bollywood debut of Ram Charan Teja, son of Telugu star Chiranjeevi. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj and Mahie Gill in pivotal roles. The movie’s Telugu version is named Toofan.
